Cultural Committee

Cultural Committee is the most informal, yet formal committee of DAMS which is responsible for organizing all the cultural events starting from Fresher’s party to Farewell. The aim of the committee is to promote oneness by conducting these events in the heart of which are social gatherings, fun activities and lots and lots of celebrations. The planning, direction, coordination and logistical requirements for all these events is taken care of by the Cultural Committee. We also work in collaboration with other Clubs and Committees of DAMS to promote bonding and team spirit between each student at DAMS.


Sports Committee

Sports teaches you character, it teaches you to play by the rules, it teaches you to know what it feels like to win and lose-it teaches you about life.

Anti-Ragging Committee

Ragging involves abuse, humiliation, or harassment of new entrants or junior students by the senior students. It often takes a malignant form wherein the newcomers may be subjected to psychological or physical torture. To curb/eradicate it, the college has set up for Anti-Ragging Committee, whose objectives are as follows: To ensure compliance with the provision of UGC regulation 2009 at the institute level. To monitor and oversee the performance of anti-ragging squad in prevention of ragging in the institution.


Placements Committee

In line with DAMS objective of preparing business ready managers with the right attitude, team skills, result-orientation and ethical consciousness, the institute at the end facilitates placement, by bringing together two of the principal stakeholders – the corporate and the participants of the programs. It is therefore necessary that a suitable platform is provided for this process which is beneficial to both, the company and the student. Besides, in this challenging environment, it is of paramount importance for the participating companies to find a suitable incumbent who fits their criteria.

The Placement Committee in DAMS is a student driven body with twin objectives of finding every participant an appropriate profile.


Minority/ OBC Committee

Members of this committee include faculty as well as students from minority groups. This committee aims at the welfare and development of minority committees through their enrolment, justice, equality as well participation in all mainstream activities.

As the name suggests, this committee is meant for the development, justice and equal status to the students belonging to this social group. Needless to say, faculty and students from OBC group are chief members of this committee.

SC/ST Committee

SC and ST committee caters to various needs of the members of the SC and ST groups in order to give them equal opportunities to progress in life. These two groups had been under-progressed and therefore to give them an equal platform to do well in life is very crucial for them. This is very well achieved by the SC/ST committee in the last few years.

  • 1. To ensure equal opportunities for SC and ST students to excel in academics and career
  • 2. To intimate the SC/ST students regarding various scholarships offered by the state and central governments

Grievance Redressal Cell (GRC)

The Grievance Redressal Cell (GRC) aims to look into the complaints lodged by any student and redress it as per requirement. The students can state their grievance regarding any academic and non- academic matter within the campus through the online and grievance/ suggestion box. The institution aims at solving the grievances of the students within stipulated academic and non- academic matter within the campus through the online and grievance/ suggestion box. The Grievance Redressal Cell has been developed to settle the grievances of the students and other stakeholders within a reasonable time period for further strengthening the bond of the students with the institution by providing them with all kind of facilities to a satisfaction level for maintaining a convenient ambience of academic teaching and learning.


Communication Club

Communication is the primary means by which we construct social truth, recognize and review social developments, and effect social revolution. The Communication Club at DAMS is a group for the students interested in communication and an excellent way for them to connect and network with each other in which they practice their speeches in front of their peers and receive constructive feedback on how to improve their speech. It is an enriching experience as the club is student-run, while the mentors are just there for support.

The objective of the club is not only to improve the effectiveness of communication but also to enhance creativity and productivity of the students by giving them various exercises on writing and speaking skills.


Finance Club

The Finance Club of DAMS is a student driven initiative that collaborates with both the corporate and academia from the financial sector to provide a platform for students to improve their quantitative and analytical thinking abilities.

This is achieved by hosting guest lecturers with industry experts in the field of finance, providing networking and career building opportunities while instilling qualities of leadership, integrity, and professionalism in all its members.

To continuously strive for academic and professional excellence in the field of financial management.

HR Club

The objective of HR club is to provide the corporate knowledge, enhance & increase leadership qualities & inculcate employability skills.

Marketing Club

The Club is a zealous bunch of innovative and creative minds striving to indulge themselves at various marketing practices. We Strive to offer the students to experience the journey of marketing through industry interactions. This perkiness plot to nurture the blooming marketers with over all potential development.

  • We conduct numerous events such as Fizzy mind, talk markers, quiz- The Maze, B- Venture Club and some adventurous and roller coaster ride into different marketing activities.
  • To keep in track the student community with the latest happenings around the marketing world, we do publish monthly newsletters. Club also helps the student to take a tour around the marketing trends through social media learning.

Training

Students are given coaching by prominent and experienced persons to enable them to acquaint to the current corporate requirements, to improve their skills like Personality Development, CV Writing, Communication Skills, Aptitude Tests, Interview Technique, Group Discussions, Technical and Personal Interviews, which are all required for getting suitable jobs. This soft skills training is mandatory for all the students. We impart state of the art training to students to make them competent and inspired engineers. The institute not only celebrates the power of knowledge, cultivates vision and encourages new ideas, but also inculcates human values and builds awareness about the self as well as the society around us.

The T & P Cell prepares students for interviews at prospective workplaces. Careful and systematic preparation is initiated and sustained. Mock Aptitude Tests, Psychometric Tests, Group Discussions and Personality Development Tests are conducted by professionals. Many books are available in the main library to help students prepare for interviews.


Rules & Regulations
  • 1. No claim from any student/parent for refund of fees under any circumstances is entertained.
  • 2. In any special case if student wishes to discontinue the college before expiry of the course or seek transfer to any other College, the student shall pay the full fees then prescribed during the admission for the rest of years
  • 3. Students shall pay all outstanding dues in time of tuition /Library/ hostel, transport any other dues
  • 4. The College shall have the right to withhold the transfer certificate and any other certificates until the dues/outstanding are fully paid
  • 5. It is essential to have Membership to Co-operative society, Book bank and Alumni association
  • 6. All candidates must pay the fees at the time of admission. Failure to pay the fees on or before the date(s) specified will result in the instantaneous forfeiture of the seat as well as any fees/booking fee already paid
  • 7. Course fees for the subsequent years must be remitted before the commencement of the academic year
  • 8. All certification, attestation, duplicate copies will be nominally charged
  • 9. The college takes all precautions to admit the student based on the eligibility certificate produced by the students. However, if the same is not found to be valid by the University or Government, It is the responsibility of the student to obtain necessary eligible certificates.
  • 10. The college will not be held responsible for any such rejection of the application by the statutory body and students shall not have any claim for refund of fees.
  • 11. The Management will not be held responsible for any delay in getting the admission approval and if students are not permitted to write the examination.
  • 12. The students who have completed their semesters without backlog only will be allowed to take part in sports, cultural activities and competitions.

Student Council

Student Council is a body of students to promote quality in student life. It is a support system for holistic development of the students. Every department has an elected student council composed from the final year batches and a secretary elected from the second year batches. The larger student council comprises the Core Student Council, the department student council and the elected class representatives and the nominated representatives of various clubs and associations. The student council is involved in organizing the Graduation day, intra-collegiate cultural and arts competitions, Inter-collegiate cultural fest, intra and inter-collegiate sports fests and other fests. There are regular Student Council meetings every semester along with the principal and the student council mentors. In this meeting, the students evaluate activities, plan out the up-coming programmes and discuss relevant issues with the Management.


Students' Grievance Cell

The function of the cell is to look into the complaints lodged by any student, and judge its merit. The Grievance cell is also empowered to look into matters of harassment. Anyone with a genuine grievance may approach the department members in person, or in consultation with the officer in-charge Students’ Grievance Cell. In case the person is unwilling to appear in self, grievances may be dropped in writing at the letterbox/ suggestion box of the Grievance Cell near Administrative office. Grievances may also be sent through e-mail to the officer in-charge of Students’ Grievance Cell.

Objective:

The objective of the Grievance Cell is to develop a responsive and accountable attitude among all the stakeholders in order to maintain a harmonious educational atmosphere in the institute. A Grievance Cell should be constituted for the redressal of the problems reported by the Students of the College with the following objectives:

  • 1. Upholding the dignity of the College by ensuring strife free atmosphere in the College through promoting cordial Student-Student relationship and Student-teacher relationship etc.
  • 2. Encouraging the Students to express their grievances / problems freely and frankly, without any fear of being victimized.
  • 3. Suggestion / complaint Box is installed in front of the Administrative Block in which the Students, who want to remain anonymous, put in writing their grievances and their suggestions for improving the Academics / Administration in the College.
  • 4. Advising Students of the College to respect the right and dignity of one another and show utmost restraint and patience whenever any occasion of rift arises.
  • 5. Advising All the Students to refrain from inciting Students against other Students, teachers and College administration
  • 6. Advising all staffs to be affectionate to the Students and not behave in a vindictive manner towards any of them for any reason.
  • 7. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited in and outside the institution. Any violation of ragging and disciplinary rules should be urgently brought to the notice of the Principal.
Scope:

The cell will deal with Grievances received in writing from the students about any of the following matters:-

  • 1. Academic Matters: Related to timely issue of duplicate Mark-sheets, Transfer Certificates, Conduct Certificates or other examination related matters.
  • 2. Financial Matters: Related to dues and payments for various items from library, hostels etc.
  • 3. Other Matters: Related to certain misgivings about conditions of sanitation, preparation of food, availability of transport, victimization by teachers etc.
  • Functions:
  • 1. The cases will be attended promptly on receipt of written grievances from the students.
  • 2. Call the parents and the students for the meeting with pre intimation.
  • 3. Discuss in detail the problems of the students.
  • 4. The cell formally will review all cases and will act accordingly as per the Management policy.
  • 5. The cell will give report to the authority about the cases attended to and the number of pending cases, if any, which require direction and guidance from the higher authorities.

  • Procedure for lodging complaint:
  • 1. The students may feel free to put up a grievance in writing/or in the format available in the admin dept. and drop it in boxes.
  • 2. The Grievance Cell will act upon those cases which have been forwarded along with the necessary documents..
  • 3. The Grievance Cell will assure that the grievance has been properly solved in a stipulated time limit provided by the cell.
